Managing Stress Productively

Stress is a spur to action, growth, and success if correctly handled. But if poorly handled, stress can be a cause of burnout, ineffectiveness, and employee strife. This program is designed to help you recognize the sources, symptoms, and effects of stress and learn how to deal with work pressures and meet the challenges of stress-related problems. In addition, you will develop a practical, concrete self-management approach to stress.

What You Will Learn:

  • Define what stress is and describe factors that initiate a stress response.
  • Recognize the symptoms of stress and identify the effects of stress - physically, emotionally, behaviorally, and relationally.
  • Determine if the personality exhibited at work may be a cause of stress.
  • Explain and discuss eleven stress reduction strategies with practical application.
  • Practice and demonstrate effective stress reduction techniques.
